June 25 through July 3rd, FisherFolk Fiber Retreat in Cordova Alaska
FisherFolk sponsored by The Net Loft Fiber and Friends. A rare opportunity to study with some of the knitting greats in traditional Gansey techniques, including teachers from North America and also Scotland. We will be leading 4 natural dye classes, including a community-wide indigo dip. Information and registration here.
July 9, 2016 – Indigo for Hand Knitters.
Held at Farm Girl Products in Lake Stevens, Washington. Working with a sportweight wool and alpaca blend yarn, we will create a series of indigo dyed yarns, from pale, watery blues to deep rich inky shades. Students are encouraged to bring additional yarns for overdyeing and upcycling. If the indigo patch is producing, we will also experiment with fresh indigo to obtain a color not often seen with this mysterious dye.
July 22-24 – Colors of the Prairie returns to Scattergood in West Branch, Iowa.
This time, we will work on simple printing and mark-making techniques beyond traditional eco-printing. Full room and board at the Scattergood dorm is provided.
August 6 & 7 -Gathering Color at Madison Wool, Madison, Connecticut.

Held at Dumas Bay Centre, Washington. Learn how to create your own palettes using trends, dive into indigo and learn non-toxic printing and painting by making your own natural dye inks. Four days of creating, journaling and learning with nationally known natural dye experts. Full room and board package available.
