Julie Beeler of The Mushroom Color Atlas created a beautiful 18×24″ poster that depicts a color wheel of hues derived from dye mushrooms that she foraged and collected. The Mushroom Color Atlas is a resource and reference for everyone curious about mushrooms. The poster shows the beautiful and subtle colors derived from dyeing with mushrooms, but it is also the start of a journey and a point of departure, introducing you to the kaleidoscopic fungi kingdom and our connection to it. The poster comes rolled in a sturdy mailing tube. Printed on 100% matte recycled paper.

My hope is that through Mushroom Color Atlas and Dye Marks everyone will be inspired to learn more about the mycological world, and begin to understand the importance of the networks, connections and symbiotic relationships that live in our forests. Most importantly, understanding our impact on these delicate networks and our role as stewards of the land, bringing positive change to our local environments and our planet.

I experiment with the unpredictability of plants by growing and harvesting, observing and foraging, and tethering myself to nature’s seasons. Blooming and dyeing takes time. I smell, cook, immerse and bundle up plants, blooms, leaves, seeds, roots, berries, and bark. I transform the natural world and it transforms me. I was compelled to create the Mushroom Color Atlas as a resource and reference for everyone curious about exploring the chromatic universe of fungi through the spectrum of colors naturally produced by mushrooms.
