Re:COLOR Policies & Frequently Asked Questions

Accepted Items

• We accept natural fiber clothing items including cotton, linen, silk, wool, and blends with at least 70% natural fibers.
• We reserve the right to refuse any item that we deem unsuitable for dyeing, this could include pieces we think will not withstand the service, ie too many holes, or heavy hardware. 
• We reserve the right to inspect your garment. If there is ink, staining, or imagery that could contaminate the dye bath, we may not be able to dye it.
• Any pre-existing stains are not guaranteed to even out within the dyeing process.
• pH stains may show on your garment if you wear deodorant with aluminum.
• Most commercially sewn garments use polyester thread, which will not take our natural dyes.
• Light-colored items will generally take dye best.
• Depending on the metal, some hardware may discolor fabric.

Pricing

– Pricing is based on the item type and size. See our product for current rates.

– Rush orders (less than 2 weeks turnaround) are subject to a 25% surcharge.

Turnaround Time

– Standard turnaround time is 3-4 weeks from receipt of items.

– Rush orders may be available for an additional fee, subject to capacity.

Care Instructions

– Care instructions for your Re:COLORed items will be provided upon return.

– Natural dyes may fade over time with washing and sun exposure, which is part of their unique charm.

Refunds and Guarantees

– We do not offer refunds on completed dye jobs.

– In the rare event of damage during the dyeing process, we will offer store credit or a replacement dye service.

– We cannot guarantee the removal of existing stains or patterns.

The Images are guides for the pattern and color, but each piece is unique and will vary from garment to garment.

Shipping

• Customers are responsible for shipping costs to our facility and removing any non-fabric embellishments before sending items.
• Return shipping is included in the service price for domestic orders. We cannot accept international orders at this time.
• We are not responsible for items lost in transit to our facility.

Additional Notes

• Buttons, zippers, and synthetic threads will not take dye and may remain their original color.
• Shrinkage and torquing of fabric may occur during the dyeing process.
• For indigo jean refreshes, please note there are specific limitations and results may vary.

– International shipping fees apply for return shipments outside the country.
