We first introduced you to Kristin Field of Field & Gardner and her incredible work through our social media series Takeover Tuesday. You loved her intricate Eco-printed Shibori circles so much that we decided to offer a workshop with her this fall! Join us for an online workshop where you can watch her demonstrate the techniques that she uses to create unique and beautiful eco-printed shibori.

Join Kristin for a one-day online workshop where you will learn to design, stitch, cap, indigo dye, and eco-print with pressed coreopsis flowers to create unique shibori burst designs. Kristin began making these indigo & coreopsis designs in 2021, and this is the first time she will be sharing her techniques in a workshop!

Are you interested in using fresh indigo but didn’t have time to grow your own? We have a crop of indigo to share and invite you to join our live streaming event in Seattle. We’ll join the Zoom workshop as a group, project Britt on a large wall, and explore fresh leaf indigo. We’ll supply enough indigo to follow along with Britt and try the techniques that she covers, plus you will leave with your own indigo plant and tons of inspiration for future fresh leaf fun! You will receive a thriving indigo plant, fabric swatches, use of our tools and studio, and access to the online recording after the session. Seats are limited!

This week on FEEDBACK FRIDAY we had natural dyer and artist Lotta Helleberg. Lotta talked about her artistic journey, specifically how and why botanical printing, and natural dye processes have become the main focus of her art practice. She also discussed the roles of her local flora and the plants in her dye garden (including weeds and less desirable inhabitants) and presented her most recent work involving a vintage, badly damaged quilt, which has regained new life with the help of natural dyes and patient repair work.
